Parasite or Symbiote Hypothesis

The Parasite or Symbiote hypothesis indicates that the objects or entities we believe we see may be caused by internal factors controlling us (microbes, fungus, bacteria, viruses, etc.). Some speculate that these tiny living beings may be intelligent and act upon us purposefully. This concept has inspired science fiction movies and video games like The Last of Us.
